Device for determining the form of a wave-front transmitted by a transparent plate with parallel faces

The device allows determination of the shape of a surface wave transmitted by a transparent component (P) with parallel surfaces. It includes a support (S) for the component (P) and an interferometer (I), with a system for displacement of the support. A control unit uses the measurements from the interferometer in order to determine the shape of the surface wave. The support is made in such a way as to allow the passage of a light beam (FM) transmitted by the interferometer (I) and passing through the transparent component (P). The light beam is incident upon a mirror (M1) which is approximately perpendicular to the light beam but which can be tilted (E1). This mirror returns the incident light beam such that it passes a second time through the transparent component and is received again within the interferometer (I).
