<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire/wireless input device that can reduce the power consumption of its built-in battery even at the time of using a specified key. SOLUTION: This wire/wireless input device 200, where a pointing device can be mounted, can reduce the power consumption of its battery not only in a wire/wireless information input mode but in a wireless information input mode. The device 200 also detects whether it receives the supply of power from a computer system to decide the use/non-use of its battery power. When the battery power is used (wireless input device function mode), the operation is inhibited for a key function display part 260 of the device 200. Then, a key function display part 120 of the computer system is actuated to perform the light emitting display in response to the specific key input. Thus, it's possible to prevent a case, where most of the battery power is consumed at the display part 260 of the device 200 when the device 200 functions as a wireless input device.</p> |
