PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a denitrification catalyst having high durability against a poisoning material such as As and a low SO2 oxidation rate. SOLUTION: This carrier for a denitrification catalyst is composed of a compound oxide obtained by mixing Ti alkoxide with Si alkoxide and after hydrolyzing, firing and having a composition having a weight ratio (TiO2 ):(SiO2 ) of 60:40 to 99.9:0.1. Moreover, a producing method of the carrier comprises mixing Ti alkoxide with Si alkoxide so that the weight ratio of TiO2 :SiO2 is 60:40 to 99.9:0.1, hydrolyzing it by being brought in contact with water, after further aging and stirring it in the water, to fire the produced gelated material and forming the compound oxide. |
