<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable optical pickup by reducing stress on the connecting portion of a flexible printed board and a photodetector, thereby preventing displacement of the photodetector and improving heat radiation properties. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup includes the photodetector 41, a photodetector holder 42 holding the photodetector 41, and the flexible printed board 43 the one end of which is two-forked.
