PURPOSE: A washing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to enable laundry to drop to the maximum during rotation by controlling the rotating speed of a drum based on a database in which the proper rotating speeds of a drum depending on the load of the laundry are stored. CONSTITUTION: A washing apparatus is composed of a cabinet, a tub, a drum, a measuring unit, and a control unit. The tub is installed in the cabinet. The measuring unit measures the load of the laundry in the drum. The control unit controls the rotating speed of the drum depending on the measured load of the laundry in a washing stage. The control unit controls the rotating speed of the drum depending on the measured laundry load in a drying stage. The control unit controls the rotating speed based on a database in which the proper rotating speeds of the drum are stored depending on the laundry load. The control unit controls so that the laundry has the maximum elevation difference while the laundry rotates. |
