PURPOSE: A washing apparatus and a control method thereof are provided to enable a user to easily recognize the washing time of a washing apparatus by notifying the user of the washing time through an alarm unit if the washing apparatus detects the passing of a predetermined time in a non-operating state. CONSTITUTION: A washing apparatus is composed of a cabinet, a tub, a drum, an operation sensor, a real timer, an alarm unit, and a controller. The tub is installed in the cabinet. The operation sensor is installed in the cabinet. The operation sensor senses the operation of the washing apparatus. The real timer counts the real time. The alarm unit informs the washing time of the tub. If sensing that the washing apparatus passes a predetermined time in a non-operating state, the controller informs the washing time of the tub through the alarm unit. |
