PURPOSE: A separator for a fuel cell and a method for manufacturing the separator comprising a substrate and an electroplating layer are provided to have high conductivity and corrosion resistance, to be stably used within the fuel cell for a long term. CONSTITUTION: A separator(1,1A) for a fuel cell comprises a substrate(2) including pure aluminum or aluminum alloy and an electroplating layer(3) which is formed on the substrate. The electroplating layer is comprised of a copper layer(3a) which is formed on the substrate and a tin layer(3b) which is formed on the copper layer. The tin layer is formed on the outermost surface layer and the copper layer has a thickness of more than 0.10 microns. A method for manufacturing the separator for the fuel cell comprises a step of manufacturing the substrate and a step of forming the electroplating layer on the substrate. |
