PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head slider having a slider surface shape, capable of reducing a floating amount. SOLUTION: A slider surface is provided with a stepped flow-in shallow groove 3, two flow-in end pads 1, a negative pressure generation deep groove part 6, a flow-out shallow groove 4 formed on an air flow-out end side, a flow-out end pad 2 disposed in the flow-out shallow groove part 4, and a trimming part (floating amount reduction part) 5 in which the flow-out end pad 2 is narrowed to the air flow-out end to be extended. A magnetic head 8 is formed in the trimming part 5 of the flow-out side of the flow-out end pad 2, and a groove 9 is processed in an air flow-out direction in the trimming 5 between the flow-out ends of the magnetic head 8.
