PURPOSE: A liquid crystal aligning agent is provided to obtain excellent vertical orientation and stability for a long term, to prevent the degradation of a voltage holding ratio, and to form a liquid crystal alignment layer having excellent an after image property. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal aligning agent contains polyorganosiloxane(A), which is obtained through hydrolysis and condensation of a silane compound including a compound which is marked by chemical formula 1 of R^ISi(OR^II)_3, and a polymer(B) which is selected from a group comprising polyamic acid and polyimide. In chemical formula 1, R^I is a monovalent organic group having a (meth)acryloyl group and R^II is a monovalent organic group. The ratio of the polyorganosiloxane is 0.01-30 weight% based on the total weight of the polyorganosiloxane and the polymer.
