PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart water resistance of the degree capable of outdoor exhibiting to an ink receptive layer in an ink jet recording type using an oily ink by forming a recording material by providing the layer containing particles and a resin on a base material, and setting a water resistant density holding ratio of the recording material to a specific value. SOLUTION: The recording material is formed by providing an ink receptive layer containing particles and a resin on a base material, and a water resistant density holding ratio of the recording material to 95% or above. That is, as the receptive layer, a water non-absorbable thermoplastic resin is used to improve water resistance so as to maintain the water resistant density holding ratio of the recording material to 95% or above to reduce crocking of the receptive layer by a mutual action of a print after printing with the oily ink. As a preferred embodiment of the particles, a silica, a kaolinite, a talc or the like is used. As a binding material for binding the particles, a water non- absorbable thermoplastic resin is suitable, and a polyester thermoplastic resin is more suitable in view of adhesive properties, water resistance, weather resistance or the like of the base material. |
