CHARGE/DISCHARGE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HYBRID VEHICLE, AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR

In a running mode, in which the run is controlled so that the charging quantity (SOC) of a charging device mounted on a hybrid vehicle may be kept within a predetermined control range, a control center value (SOCr#) for defining the control range is set higher, when a malfunction relating to a charging device (10) occurs, than such a control center value (SOCr) at an ordinary time as is set close to the managed lower limit of the SOC. Then, the charge/discharge of the charging device is allowed. When an abnormality occurs at a level requiring no immediate cutoff of the charge/discharge of the charging device, therefore, the charging device can be protected, and the run of the vehicle accompanying the use of the charging device can be continued.
