The car has an air-deflecting device which is composed of a spoiler provided on the boot lid and a wing connected to it. The wing (5) can be moved by a drive device (5) from a retracted rest position into a driven-out working position and vice versa. The wing is held in the rest position so as to be substantially sunken into a trough-like recess (10) provided on the top side of the spoiler (4). In the retracted rest position of the wing, the top side of it forms the flow surface for the air flowing over the boot. In this retracted rest position the wing runs to the recess of the spoiler, lying under it and forming a narrow gap.
