PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a sublimable dye thermal transfer image receiving sheet having a transparent receiving layer of excellent mold releasability with an ink sheet with a single layer on a synthetic resin sheet or a metal sheet without a wet type method. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a sublimable dye thermal transfer image receiving sheet having a transparent receiving layer for receiving a sublimable dye on a base material comprises the steps of dry coating the material with a powder mixture made of a powder paint containing a transparent resin and transparent fine particles, melting the resin, fixing together with the particles, thereby forming the transparent receiving layer. In this case, as the material, for example, a synthetic resin sheet or a metal sheet is used. As the particles, for example, fine particles made of polymethyl methacrylate or fine particles made of stannic oxide having a mean particle size of 1 nm to 10 μm is used. |
