PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a penpoint enabling stable working of a capillary force of a slit provided in the tip part of a pen member and attainment of a smooth touch in writing without necessitating troublesome operating processes and an increase in expensive working machines and further to attain an improvement in manufacturing efficiency and reduction of the cost. SOLUTION: A plurality of thin sheet materials 2 provided with at least one or more slits 5 in the tip parts are laid on each other and a minute-gap-like ink flow passage 11 is formed between the thin sheet materials 2 through the whole length thereof. A pen member 4 prepared in this way is fitted in a holder tube 7. In a penpoint 1 thus obtained, the width of the slit 5 is formed by a notched part provided by a first notching process of forming a notch width being equal to or larger than the sheet thickness of the thin sheet material 5 and by a rolled part provided by a second rolling process of forming the notched part to be smaller than the sheet thickness.
