METHOD FOR REMOVING BAMBOO OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently remove oil from the surface of a natural green bamboo rapidly and to such an extent that the oil is removed even from the fine parts of the bamboo without losing its rigidity and strength, in the process of treating the bamboo for preventing its color from being faded or coloring it. SOLUTION: An aqueous basic solution prepared by adding 0.01-1 wt.% basic compound and 0.01-1 wt.% surfactant, is heated at about 70-100 deg.C. Next a bamboo is soaked in the aqueous basic solution to remove oil from the bamboo.
