Ground level measuring method uses laser beam defining horizontal reference plane and measuring device determining its distance from ground surface

The level measuring method has a receiver (2) for reception of a horizontal laser beam (3) defining a reference plane (13) and a mechanically coupled measuring device (4) for determining the distance of the receiver from the ground surface (5,5'), using a reflection measuring principle, e.g. a laser ranging device. An Independent claim for a level measuring device is also included.
