PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a stimulable phosphor panel at a specified position in a radiation image reader in a shorter time. SOLUTION: Space between the reference surface for positioning 31 of the stimulable phosphor panel 100 and the surface 21 of a stimulable phosphor layer 20 is adjusted to a specified space set previously by using a positioning member 30 having the reference surface for positioning 31.
