<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of monitoring a surrounding environment of an automobile so as to be able to travel along a single track while inhibiting an inappropriate operation of an automatic brake. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes steps of calculating a plurality of drive danger levels based on a detection sensor, a parameter associated with the automobile, and an obstacle in the surrounding environment of the automobile, determining whether the obstacle is on the track of the automobile, and making a determination associated with the operation of the brake of the automobile based on the calculated drive danger level and the determination of the obstacle on the track of the automobile. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
