PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management device and a document management method for high-speed search. SOLUTION: In storage of index data, a post data area is divided according to Gram data, and then, the post data area is divided according to a prefix and a postfix in the Gram data for storing the index data. In search for a document including the keyword, scanning is carried out while the post data area is restricted by Gram data of a keyword and the prefix and the postfix of the Gram data.
