PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which improves the reliability of connection between a liquid crystal display element and a liquid crystal driver while improving the operating speed of a driving circuit and reducing the load and electric power consumption of the signal source. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is equipped with the liquid crystal display element 44 and a source driver 30 including an input latch circuit 48 and circuits 33 to 37, 39 for sampling data signals R, G and B for gray scale display from a control circuit 45 and holding the signals for the prescribed time at an output end. The circuits 33 to 37, 39 are formed together with the liquid crystal display element 44 on a glass substrate 43 by using thin p-Si films and on the other hand, the input latch circuit 48 is formed within a logic circuit 41 formed on a single crystalline silicon substrate.
