PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram apparatus in which diffraction efficiency can be made constant without changing the output of a laser light source itself and by which high-accuracy reconstructed data can be obtained, and to provide a hologram recording/reproducing method using the hologram apparatus. SOLUTION: It is made unnecessary to change the output of the laser light source 2 because the intensity of laser light applied on a hologram recording medium M can be regulated by control of an AOM 5 by a CPU 23 and an AOM driver 20. Thus, the intensity of laser light applied on the hologram recording medium M does not get unstable, diffraction efficiency of generated reconstruction light L4 can be made constant, and high-accuracy reproduced data can be obtained.
