PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength selective optical switch that can surely control the angle of a reflection face even for a mirror corresponding to a wavelength with no signal light inputted and that causes no crosstalk when a signal light is newly inputted. SOLUTION: The wavelength selective optical switch detects the wavelength of a signal light inputted in the signal light input port 1 of the main body 9 in which an optical path is switched for each wavelength through the angular control of a plurality of mirrors. The switch also monitors the intensity of monitoring light which is generated in an internal light source 12 and imparted from a monitoring light input port 10 installed in the main body 9 so as to be guided to the monitoring light output port 11. As to the wavelength of a signal light uninputted in the signal light input port 1, for the purpose of maximizing the output intensity of the monitoring light, the angle of the reflection area of a corresponding mirror is feedback-controlled.
