PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical tomographic imaging method capable of enhancing the resolution, both in the optical axis direction and in the lateral direction, and collecting image data at high speed. SOLUTION: In this method, a low-coherent light L emitted from a light source 111 is split into measuring light L1 and reference light L2, and a reflected light L3 returned, when irradiating a measuring object S with the measuring light L1, is coupled with the reference light L2, and interference light L4 between the reflected light L3 and the reference light L2 coupled together is detected by an interference light detection means 140, and a tomographic image is acquired by SD-OCT measurement from the detected interference light L4. In the method, the focusing range to the measuring object S of the measuring light L2 is changed by changing stepwise the optical path length of the reference light L2, and data showing the reflected light intensity are acquired, each time the focusing range is changed, and data on the depth location wherein the measuring light L1 is in the focusing range are extracted from the data, and the tomographic image is acquired, based on the extracted data.
