PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk brake capable of preventing the occurrence of indentation when braking during advancing and to suppress rattling noise when braking during backing. SOLUTION: The disk brake is provided with a caliper main body 2 having a piston 7 opposingly arranged with respect to a disk D, and a plurality of brake pads 9 arranged in pairs on both sides of the disk D. The caliper main body 2 is provided with an advancing torque receiving face 14a for receiving a braking torque from the brake pads 9 when braking during advancing, and a backing torque receiving face 14b for receiving a braking torque from the brake pads 9 when braking during backing. A guide member 18 contacting the brake pads 9 is provided only on the advancing torque receiving face 14a, and the backing torque receiving face 14b is made to directly contact the brake pads 9.
