PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tumble flow control device of an engine capable of maintaining a strong tumble flow up to the ignition timing. SOLUTION: This tumble flow control device is characterized by having an intake port 12 communicating with a combustion chamber 11, an intake valve 31 for controlling intake air to the combustion chamber 11 by opening and closing the intake port by reacting to the vertical movement of a piston 33, a partition wall 13 for forming a first passage 12b and a second passage 12a by vertically dividing the intake port 12 into two parts, a tumble control valve 14 arranged in the first passage 12b and generating the tumble flow in the combustion chamber by controlling the air volume flowing through the first passage 12b in response to opening, and a tumble control valve control means 20 for substantially fully closing the tumble control valve 14 up to the first half of an intake stroke and substantially fully opening the tumble control valve 14 up to closing the intake valve 31 from the latter half of the intake stroke.
