<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and readily obtaining a biaryl compound having various substitution styles. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the biaryl compound includes reacting an ene-yne represented by general formula (1) in the presence of a ruthenium or molybdenum catalyst, to form a cyclic compound, and subjecting the cyclic compound to thermal decomposition or reacting the cyclic compound in the presence of an acid or a base. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
