PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and printing method capable of selectively adjusting contact pressure in a plane at the time of transferring a printing material from one surface to another surface in a pattern prescribed in a plate.SOLUTION: In a first transfer process of transferring a printing material from an outer peripheral surface S1 of a plate 140 to an outer peripheral surface S2 of a blanket 170, the thickness change of a planar body 100 holding the blanket 170 in a planar form is selectively and reversibly caused, and thereby a pressing force of the planar body 100 for pressing the blanket 170 is selectively adjusted in a plane (a pressure adjustment process). Consequently, contact pressure between the outer peripheral surface S1 of the plate 140 and the outer peripheral surface S2 of the blanket 170 is selectively adjusted in the plane.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
