In one embodiment of the present invention there is provided a biodegradable implantable device. The biodegradable implant device can include one or more elongate spiral support structures that can be biodegradable. Some embodiments can further include a material capture structure that can be biodegradable. A pharmacological agent can also be incorporated into the elongate spiral support structures and/or the material capture structure.

an elongate support structure element having a first end and a second end, the elongate support structure element arranged in a figure eight configuration to form two loops, wherein the two loops are not coplanar; and a biodegradable material capture structure extending across at least one loop in a generally planar configuration.
