PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tungsten-oxide-based photocatalytic material of a visible light responsive type having a high photocatalytic activity.SOLUTION: A photocatalytic material 1 comprises a core particle 2 containing a metal oxide composed of a tungsten oxide particle or composed of a composite of a tungsten oxide particle and a metal oxide other than tungsten oxide, and a promoter 3 containing at least one kind of metal such as platinum, palladium, iron, silver, gold, and nickel carried on the surface of the core particle 2. The photocatalytic material is doped with a halogen such as chlorine, and further includes a shell layer of titanium oxide that covers the whole surface of the core particle 2 and the promoter 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
