PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of displaying in a high dynamic range.SOLUTION: A display device 1 includes: a projection unit 20 that emits light in accordance with a first video signal including three primary color signals;a screen 31; a panel unit 30; and a display control unit 50 that generates a first video signal and a second video signal from an input video signal including three primary color signals, and outputs a video signal for controlling the projection unit 20 on the basis of the first video signal and controlling a transmissive liquid crystal panel 301 on the basis of the second video signal. The panel unit 30 includes the transmissive liquid crystal panel 301 that changes the polarization direction of each light of three primary colors from the projection unit in accordance with the second video signal including three primary color signals, and a polarizer 302. The screen 31 and the panel unit 30 are disposed in this order in the light traveling direction. The light emitted from the projection unit 20 is focused at a position farther than the panel when viewed from the projection unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
