A scanning endoscope apparatus (1) comprises: a light source unit (21); an illumination fiber (12) inserted inside the inserted section of the endoscope for guiding illumination light from the base end to the tip; an actuator (15) for driving the tip of the optical fiber so that the illumination light emitted from the illumination fiber (12) is scanned on the photographic object; a memory (16) for storing the drive signal for driving the actuator (15) and correlation coefficient information for the amount of displacement of the actuator (15); and a controller (25). The controller (25) detects the electric current of the drive signal for driving the actuator (15) and corrects the drive signal driving the actuator (15) on the basis of the correlation coefficient information and the detected electric current value so that the amount of displacement of the actuator (15) reaches a prescribed value. |
