PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the occurrence of a crack or the disconnection in a first conductor layer in a gas sensor element having an insulation part having a through-hole and an electrolyte part embedded in the through-hole.SOLUTION: A gas sensor element includes: a composite ceramic layer including an insulating ceramic and including a plate-like insulating part formed with a through-hole and including a solid electrolyte ceramic and having a plate-like electrolyte part arranged inside the through-hole; a first conductor layer formed across a first insulation surface that is one surface of the insulation part and a first electrolyte surface that is the other surface of the electrolyte part. The first insulation surface and the first electrolyte surface are aligned on the same plane. The electrolyte part has an extension part extending to the outside of the through-hole by superposing on the first insulation surface on the first electrolyte surface side. A thickness of the extension part becomes thicker as approaching closer to the outer periphery of the extension part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
