PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an offset and tailing by preventing leakage of the transfer charge of a recording material through a releasable layer as the front layer of a fixing member such as a fixing roller and a fixing film and to obtain an excellent image in which a peeling offset is prevented by suppressing the potential of charging up and removing the local charge of the surface of the releasable layer of the fixing member through the recording material. SOLUTION: This fixing device is constituted so that the recording material P on which an unfixed image is formed passes through a fixing nip part N as the mutual press-contact part of the fixing member 10 and a pressure member 20, to fix the unfixed image on the recording material P. The volume resistivity of the top layer coming into contact with the recording material P of the fixing member such as the fixing roller and the fixing film 13 is set at >=10<10>Ωcm, the thickness is set at 8μm <= to <= 18μm and a conductive member 16a is provided in a part nearer to the downstream side in the carrying direction of the recording material than the fixing nip part N.
