PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fingerprint sensor for searching in a short time for a detection condition for reading irregularity information of the fingerprint as a capacitance change. SOLUTION: This fingerprint sensor 1 is equipped with a plurality of capacitance detection circuits 31 for outputting a detection signal carrying the irregularity information of the fingerprint based on a capacitance between itself and the finger tip surface, a fingerprint detection part 30 formed by arranging the plurality of capacitance detection circuits 31 in the row direction and in the column direction crossing mutually, a plurality of scanning lines 36, a scanning line driver 20 for driving the scanning lines 36, a data line 37, a data line driver 10 for driving the data line 37, and search means 10, 20, 40 for searching for the detection condition of the irregularity information by changing the detection condition of the irregularity information in the state where a plurality of capacitance detection circuits 31 aligned at least on some one scanning line 36 among the plurality of scanning lines 36 are selected.
