PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toroidal type continuously variable transmission which improves durability of a tilting bearing and a yoke by suppressing wear between the tilting bearing and the yoke. SOLUTION: In the toroidal type continuously variable transmission, a pivot 5 of a trunnion 6 is supported by a holding hole 23a of the yoke 23 so as to swing and axially move via the tilting bearing 150 for supporting the pivot 5 so as to tilt. The tilting bearing 150 comprises rolling elements 150b, and an outer race 150a located outside the rolling elements 150b. The trunnion 6 has an oil passage 180 formed in order to supply lubricating oil between the outside surface of the outer race 150a of the tilting bearing 150 and the holding hole 23a of the yoke 23.
