PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine and a manufacturing method therefor, capable of reducing residual stress occurring after resin used for fixing a magnet is solidified. SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine includes a rotor core 5 and a permanent magnet 5A installed on the rotor core 5 through a resin portion and is formed with an opening portion 52 as a cooling assist portion for assisting cooling of the permanent magnet 5A in fixing the permanent magnet 5A on the rotor core 5 by solidifying the liquefied resin portion.
