A system and a method for driving an inherent function of a terminal by using BIFS(BInary Format for Scene) in the DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) are provided to enhance a sense of absorption when viewing the DMB service. A terminal receives DMB broadcasting data(S101). When demodulating the received DMB broadcasting data, a process for discriminating whether the inherent function of the terminal is called from the BIFS information is performed(S103). The AV(Audio Video) data are demodulated(S104) and reproduced. If the inherent function of the terminal is called, the AV data is reproduced and the inherent function is simultaneously driven(S105).
