An LCD is provided to increase resistance using a connection bridge at a portion of a protection line and make a structure which circulates the static electricity in an entire mother substrate to reduce static electricity which can be generated in a fabrication process of an LCD. A mother substrate includes a first protection line(112a) and a second protection line(112c) respectively extending under and above a cell in a horizontal direction. A third protection line extends in a vertical direction, and is connected between the first protection line and the second protection line. A portion of the third protection line is connected through a connection bridge(112b). The cell includes a pad applying a common voltage, a common voltage transfer line connected to the pad, and a shortening point connected to the common voltage transfer line.
