A system and a method for transferring a photo through an MMS are provided to enable users to share the photo conveniently and easily by transferring the photo stored in a mobile terminal to the MMSC, enabling the MMSC to transfer a message with a name of the users included in the photo to a receiver, and making the receiver check the users included in the photo with the received message. A sender terminal(100) transfers a photo image and at least one receiver phone number stored in a memory to the MMSC(300) by a transfer request. The MMSC extracts facial feature from the received photo image, and determines the users included in the photo image by comparing the extracted facial feature with a reference user facial feature stored in a database(310). The MMSC automatically generates the message including the name of the determined users, and transfers the message and the photo image to a receiver terminal(500) by using the received receiver phone number. The receiver terminal displays the photo image and the message received from the MMSC to a display part, and stores the photo image by a request of the receiver. |
