PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polymers of α-olefins with high catalytic activity.SOLUTION: In the method for producing polymers of α-olefins by using a catalyst including (A) a solid catalyst including magnesium, titanium, halogen and a diether compound as an inner electron donor compound and (B) an organoaluminum compound, (i) when the catalyst further includes (C) an external electron donor compound, the production method includes a step of preparing a catalyst by bringing a contact material produced by previously bringing the component (B) into contact with the component (C) into contact with the component (A) in which when the time until the catalyst is brought into contact with α-olefins after preparing the catalyst is represented as τ, the τis 3 to 100 minutes; and (ii) when the catalyst does not include the external electron donor compound (C), the production method includes a step of preparing a catalyst by bringing the component (A) into contact with the component (B) in which the time until the catalyst is brought into contact with α-olefins after preparing the catalyst is represented as τ, the τis 3 to 100 minutes.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
