The present invention relates to a pedestrian safety system enabled through a smartphone including a sound differentiating sensor and a velocity measurement sensor. The method of the pedestrian safety system includes: a noise sensing step of enabling the sound differentiating sensor to sense noise around a pedestrian; a noise differentiating step of enabling the sound differentiating sensor to differentiate the sensed noise with reference to noise stored in advance to differentiate vehicle noise; a velocity sensing step of sensing the velocity of a vehicle through the velocity measurement sensor; and a warning step of sending a warning through the smartphone when the velocity of the vehicle exceeds a preset velocity.
