DOORS, DOOR FRAMES AND DOOR AND FRAME ASSEMBLIES FEATURING DUAL WEATHERSTRIP SEALING ARRANGEMENTS

A door and frame assembly features first and second door jambs extending vertically parallel to one another on opposite sides of a doorway defined therebetween and a header spanning horizontally between the first and second door jambs proximate upper ends thereof. A door is pivotally mounted to a respective one of the door jambs for swinging between open and closed positions. A first weatherstripping installation is mounted on the door frame to extend about the doorway at a first position along a direction passing through the doorway and a second weatherstriping installation is mounted on the door frame or door to extend about the doorway at a second position along the direction passing through the doorway when the door is closed. The double seal provided by the two sets of weatherstripping provides an improvement over conventional door single-strip sealing arrangements.
