PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent skew of sheets by restricting the movement in the width direction of the sheet guide of a manual sheet feeding tray.SOLUTION: A medium placement device comprises: sheet guides 26, 27 which are movable in the width direction in accordance with the size of a sheet P and restrict the movement of the sheet P in the width direction; a placement plate 5 on which the sheets P are placed; a sheet feeding roller 3 which feeds the sheets P placed on the placement plate 5; a hopper spring 21 which energizes the placement plate 5 from below and presses the sheets P placed on the placement plate 5 against the sheet feeding roller 3; and a pickup cover 28 to which the sheet feeding roller 3 is attached, has first protrusions 37 which are formed upward on the right and left sheet guides 26, 27, and has second protrusions 38 which are engaged with the first protrusions 37 from the outer side in the width direction of the sheet P on the lower part of the pickup cover 28.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
