The invention relates to a method for knitting a fabric with a pocket, that is, the pocket with a slanted insert opening is connected with a base fabric on a base of a garment through a flat knitting machine, wherein the following steps is carried out that: a: knitting the base fabric until reaching the start portion of the inert opening of the pocket; b: in one of the front and rear needle beds, reducing windings of the base fabric on an end connected with the insert opening of the pocket while moving the base fabric towards the insert opening and knitting the base fabric, and in another one of the front and rear needle beds, adding the windings of the base fabric on an end connected with the insert opening of the pocket while knitting the base fabric; c: knitting the fabric of the pocket, and carrying out the step that connecting the fabric of the pocket with the above one of the base fabric of the needle beds and another one of the base fabric of the needle beds; and carrying out the step b and c until the finishing the knitting of the pockst and the connecting between the insert opening and the base fabric. |
