PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent element capable of improving wettability of a surface of a hole injection transport layer using a metal complex.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent element having a positive electrode, a hole injection transport layer formed on the positive electrode, a light-emitting layer formed on the hole injection transport layer, and a negative electrode formed on the light-emitting layer comprises the steps of: forming a hole injection transport layer; and forming an optional layer on the hole injection transport layer by a coating method (lamination step). The step of forming the hole injection transport layer further comprises the steps of: forming a hole injection transport layer using a material for the hole injection transport layer including a metal complex (deposition step); and rinsing the hole injection transport layer using a solvent having solubility for a ligand of the metal complex (rinse processing step). |
