PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simpliy the manufacture of an optical module by providing an optical fiber with a supporting member wherein a conductive layer is formed and an optical element with at least one sharp bump fixed and electrically connected to a conductive layer. SOLUTION: An optical element 10 is mounted on a supporting member 42. That is, a sharp bump 30 is put through a conductive layer 48 and the optical element 10 is mounted on the supporting member 42. The bump 30 mounted on the optical element 10 and the conductive layer 48 are electrically joined readily. Since the bump 30 provided on a first electrode 14 and the conductive layer 48 are joined, the first electrode 14 and the conductive layer 48 can be electrically connected. Since a bump 30 provided to another position is also joined to the conductive layer 48 similar to the bump 30 on the first electrode 14, the optical element 10 can be supported to a supporting member 42 stably. Furthermore, it is preferable to stick the bump 30 into the supporting member 42 passing through the conductive layer 48.
