<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proton conductive block copolymer and a proton conductive film for a fuel battery, having water resistance, low water-absorbing properties, reduced methanol permeability, and high proton conductivity. <P>SOLUTION: The block copolymer has a block of general formula (1) and a block of general formula (2). In formulas (1) and (2), at least one of X<SP>1</SP>to X<SP>5</SP>is a protonic acid group and the other are each H or a protonic acid group; A<SP>1</SP>to A<SP>4</SP>are each a direct bonding, -CH<SB>2</SB>-, -C(CH<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>-, -C(CF<SB>3</SB>)<SB>2</SB>-, -O-, -SO<SB>2</SB>-, or -CO-; g, h, i, j, k, and l are each 0 or 1; the hydrogen atom on the aromatic ring is hydrogen, or -C<SB>m</SB>H<SB>2m+1</SB>wherein m is an integer of 1 to 10, -Cl, -F, -CF<SB>3</SB>, or -CN. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
