PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a chip type capacitor which solves the problem that the chip type capacitor manufacturing equipment becomes enlarged to result in the rise of its cost, reduces the cost in a simple constitution, and copes with the many-model small-scale manufacturing system. SOLUTION: Using a pallet for holding a capacitor 5 with a lead wire 5a in a holder 2 attached to the body 1, it is carried in steps of process composed of a capacitor inserting unit for inserting and holding the capacitor 5 in the pallet, a lead wire forming unit for cutting the lead wire 5a into a specified length and rolling it into a flat lead, an insulating plate mounting unit for mounting an insulating plate on the capacitor 5, a lead wire processing unit for bending the lead wire 5a to fit it into a groove of the insulating plate and cutting the extruding part of the lead wire 5a from the insulating plate, an inspection unit and a taping unit one after another to manufacture the capacitor.
