PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component whose height is reduced, and whose magnetic characteristics are suppressed from being deteriorated; and to provide a method for manufacturing a coil component. SOLUTION: This component 1 is provided with a core 11, a coil 21, and an electrode part 15. The core 11 is provided with a core winding 12 and a substrate mounting face side fringe 13 and a non-substrate mounting face side fringe 14 formed at the both ends of the axial direction of the core winding 12. The coil 21 is wound around the core winding 12. The electrode 15 is constituted of a first electrode layer 15a deposited of nickel (Ni), a second electrode 15b deposited of nickel (Ni) or copper (Cu), and a third electrode layer 15c deposited of tin (Sn).
