PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly heat an inert gas by a simple constitution in a hybrid inflator using both the stored inert gas and a gas generating agent. SOLUTION: The hybrid inflator 100 has one or two or more heater assemblies 1, 2 and an ignition promoting composition 25 is stored in the heater assemblies 1, 2 having a by-pass opening 24 directly communicated with the stored inert gas 6. In ignition, a part of a combustion product from the burning ignition promoting composition 25 is fed to the storage inert gas 6 while by-passing the gas generating agent 27 through the by-pass opening 24. Igniting the gas generating agent 27 can be performed by the remaining portion of the combustion product while pre-heating the stored inert gas 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
